Meet Our Team

My favourite Wedding memory: Being Maid of Honor and chief planner at my brother and sister-in laws elopement in Texas. Despite the 40 degree heat the love in the little chapel in the woods was intoxicating.
What I love: Seeing the soon to be newlyweds faces when they see each other walking up the aisle and the other waiting to meet them!
Top Wedding Tip: forget what you think your parents, friends or family want to see, you only get married once, make it about you and your favourite drinks, food, music, flowers!
Don’t forget: Wear in those wedding shoes! Whether they are heels,  converse, or somewhere in between blisters are no fun. (Don’t panic we have plasters if it happens though! Xx)

I started my love affair with weddings while at university working on a wedding bar watching the happy couples dance their nights away with a tipple in hand.  From there I moved into wedding management and worked for some truly beautiful hotels in Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire. In 2015 I joined the team at Old Amersham and never looked back! The beauty of the venue shone through from my first visit and I have been lucky enough to be part of hundreds of “I do” moments since being here. I can’t wait to see you tie the knot next!

Favourite Wedding Song: This changes regularly as I hear so many love songs at work but currently it’s ‘My Only One (No Hay Nadie Mas)’ by Sebastian Yatre and Isabela Moner
I love Weddings that… incorporate an extra personal touch to the day. Whether it be having a friend play your entrance song or your dog being a ring bearer. It just adds that little something extra to remember.
Ideal Wedding meal: I grew up having a roast every Sunday and never got bored of it so I’d definitely have the meat and all the trimmings. The more Yorkshire puddings the better. My life revolves around chocolate as well so as long as that’s in my dessert I am happy.
Favourite Wedding Moment: Seeing a couples decoration come together. Each and every one is different and they transform the room in different ways each time.

What I Love: Witnessing the happy smiles on the newlyweds faces as they walk back down the aisle hand in hand.
Ideal Wedding Decor: Plenty of fairy lights, garlands of greenery and candles everywhere! Lots of bottles full of fairy lights and vases of flowers on the tables.
Ideal Evening Catering: Lots of pizza and cake! I also love a donut wall and a sweet cart. A gin bar is a must for me too!

Top Wedding Tip: Make sure that you take a moment on your day to just stop and take everything in! The day will go so quickly so try and take a breather together and look at what you have achieved! All of the planning and decisions will have finally come together!

What I Love: Meeting the soon to be newlyweds and witnessing their big day visions come to life!
My Favourite Wedding Memory: Attending a surprise wedding on Whitstable seafront where guests thought they were attending the groom’s 30th birthday party! It was a truly momentous occasion from start to finish!
Favourite Wedding Song: The Vow by RuthAnne! It never fails to reduce me to tears!

Since graduating with a first-class degree in Events Management I have fallen in love with the Wedding industry! I am delighted to have joined the team at Old Amersham Hotels and look forward to being part of some very special moments!

Favourite Wedding Season: Autumn as it’s the perfect season! It isn’t too hot or cold and you can still enjoy a bit of the sunshine. Also, it’s the time of year I got married!

I’ve always planned events for family and friends growing up! Life may have thrown challenges at me but the passionate flame has always been flickering, waiting for the right moment to fulfill my dream.  Although, my current main role is with Corporates, I love seeing each couple’s big day come to life with their personal touches as each wedding is unique to the couple themselves.

Bonus tip: I’ve been there and done that so I know it can be nerve-wracking. However, always remember the day is all about you and we are here to help!

Most unique Wedding moment: Meeting Molly, the owl ring-bearer at one of our weddings, was an absolute delight – and a perfect way to keep all the guests occupied during drinks reception while photos were being taken.
Favourite decoration: A balcony full of greenery and plenty of fairy lights are always a great start to making Chapel look its best – I also can never resist a table decorated with succulents!

I began working in weddings at a beautiful bespoke country house venue in Derbyshire, where I fell in love with that style of weddings. When looking for jobs around London I fell in love with the Chapel on first sight, and decided it was much nicer to come to work in the little chocolate box village of Amersham each day than it was to travel into the city. When I’m walking up the driveway towards Chapel each day I still feel very lucky to work in such beautiful surroundings.

Bonus Wedding tip: Personal touches are what makes a day stand out – table names that reflect your personalities, a photo wall of all your best couple moments or a treat table filled with all your favourites, anything personal to you will make a great memory for your guests.

Ideal Wedding Guest Meal: One of my favourite parts of my job is getting to taste all of the wonderful Wedding food we serve. It’s tough to choose but I think my ideal Wedding breakfast would be Salmon Rilete for starter, Roast Beef with all the trimmings for the main and Apple Crumble with Butterscotch Sauce for dessert. Although if you asked me next week I’d probably have a different answer!
Ideal Wedding Guest Drink: I’m normally quite boring when it comes to drinks and always have a beer of some kind, Guinness would definitely be my favourite. However, for Weddings I think something a bit more colourful like a Pimms or an Aperol Spritz are great choices. Especially in Summer!

Assistant Banqueting Manager

Why the Wedding Industry?: The reason I started a career in the Wedding industry was because I love to watch people from all walks of life make incredible memories with their loved ones and I love that I can help to make that magical day happen!
Favourite Aisle Song: My favourite aisle song has got to be “A Thousand years” by Christina Perri,  it is guaranteed to make anyone cry on the big day.

Bonus Wedding Tip: My Top Wedding tip for any couples looking to get married is to sit down with each other plan out what you would like and make a realistic budget around that.
