September 7th and 8th sees the lovely Tash and Alexis heading to Farnborough International to showcase the venue and meet some newlyweds to be.

Engagement Touches for your Big Day

|So, how was THE question popped?

I adore couples that pull their engagement into their wedding day plans. But i hear you ask, “how?!”

Well here’s a few ideas…

  • Table names – think about calling your tables after the beaches, towns, cities, tourist attractions surrounding the “Will You Marry ME” location
  • The Wedding Breakfast – Did they go down on one knee at a romantic dinner? Chat to us about concentrating your wedding meal around the engagement dinner!
  • Favours – were there candles filled when the big question was asked? How about mini candles as favours? Or perhaps there were wild flowers blooming around you in the middle of the country… think about bags of wild flower seeds for each person
  • Were you having your favorite tipple at the time? Think about center pieces like A&M’s gin bottle table pieces.
  • The first dance – pick the song that was playing at the time they asked, a lovely nod to the most important question of your life

I’ve been doing this a while now, and while I’d like to say I’ve seen it all (including a melting cake, a run away doggie ring barer and a groom step on his newlywed’s dress and rip it!)  I haven’t… but it’s pretty close!


Today while sipping my daily cup(s) of coffee, I’ve popped a few things you might find useful


Your Dancing Shoes!

Ladies, and gents, there is nothing so sole- (ha, punny) -destroying than a blister on your wedding night. You’re meant to be dancing the night away, not limping around the room!

Wear in those shoes at home! The groom traditionally can’t see the dress before the big day but shoes….. I think we can all cope! Wear them to do the hoovering, while you do the ironing, while you put your feet up and catch up on the latest Netflix series you are bingeing on. It will all help and believe me you will thank me for reminding you! 

(Don’t worry though, I always have blister plasters in my top drawer should the need arise!)




Time Alone! 

I cannot stress enough how lovely it is when newlyweds take a moment to embrace and really be together on their wedding day. A moment away from the crowds and your photographer will really be a wonderful few moments together.

All day you will be pulled from friend to family, to group shot to toasts. Believe me, send the photographer off to capture some candid family photos and hang back with each other. You’ll remember that moment.

The Most Expensive Slice of Cake You’ll Ever Devour 

Now everyone who knows me well, KNOWS I adore cake. A classic Victoria sponge, elder flower and blueberry, good old chocolate cake (or my lunch-break favorite, Old Amershams, The Grocer’s,  Guinness and Chocolate cake, yummmm).

Anyway, I digress. You’ve most likely bought a wedding cake, and let’s be honest now, it’s most likely been a few pounds to purchase!

Get your coordinator to box up a slice of each tier (or 2) and have it popped in the honeymoon suite for your midnight arrival. It’s a great snack and ensures you get to indulge in that sweet treat.


Now the best tip I can honestly give you is calm! 

If you are worried about the day and eveyone else’s opinion of the day it will dampen your enjoyment! Try not to let too many people push you in directions you don’t want to go, or spend time worrying if so and so will enjoy the delicious guinea fowl because all they eat at home is chicken nuggets!

If it rains, don’t panic, umbrella shots are cute and we can always dry you off later. If someone decides they aren’t coming, well more fool them.

I have yet to come across anything that the girls and I cannot overcome so please trust in us and you will have the best day ever.

It is your day, you will do this once, enjoy it and make sure you can look back at the best day of your life with love.

Booking Wedding Bedrooms, Made Easy!

It’s likely that a few of your guests will need to book rooms so we have some easy steps to help.


We automatically block 20 bedrooms* (under your names) for the night of your wedding to ensure that your everyone who needs a room gets one. If it looks like these are filling up quickly we can add more if needed. The initial 20 include:

  • 1 x Complimentary Honeymoon Suite
  • 13 x Double Executive
  • 4 x Double Deluxe (Needed to ensure Late Bar)
  • 1 x Family Suite
  • 1 x Townhouse


To book your guests will need to call with the following information:

  • Full Name (of everyone in the room)
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Card Details (for confirmation; payment is taken on arrival)
  • The date of arrival and departure
  • Quote your booking eg W. Jane Doe & Joe Bloggs


-A simple enough process but we do find that bookings are not always made within the group to ensure the event rate. If Aunty Sue does do this we may be able to rectify her rate but it depends how she has booked. 3rd party listings such as Expedia pose the problems-




Two months prior to your wedding, any rooms not booked will simply be released but your guests can still call and book as part of the group.


A few extra notes:

  • Any bedrooms with over two guests will be required to pay an extra £20 per person. This covers breakfast and set-up/cleaning fees
  • Guests will need top specify if they require cots/z-beds/twin rooms as most rooms are usually set up as doubles
  • Check-in is from 2pm
  • Check-out is at 11am

Why I love a summer wedding

Summer is a time of blooms, warmth, late nights, sandy toes, ice creams for dinner and romance. I think the summer is the perfect time to say “I do” and here are 3 reasons why.


Ice cream, Pimms and fizz! 

A great way to start your wedding day is with a glass of bubbles, but i truly love receptions with ice cream or even better G&T ice lollies!

A little while ago L&M had said G&T lollies in the Church grounds during photos and on their walk from St Mary’s Amersham to the Chapel. It was a great idea!



The Great Outdoors! 

Gorgeous weather means you can use the outside space for longer. Whether it be for a longer drinks reception or even eating outside, to fun and games for old and young, the garden adds a wealth of opportunities to your day.
